Dear Senior Parent –
Graduation is fast approaching and we want to be sure and communicate with you our guidelines for distributing graduation tickets. Commencement for the class of 2010 will be held at ShoWare Events Center in Kent on June 15, 2010 @ 4:00 p.m.
--------------------------------------------
On April 30th (BEFORE SCHOOL – starting @ 7:15am in the GYM)
We will have our CAP & GOWN panoramic picture and then our MANDATORY SENIOR meeting. It is VERY important for all Seniors to attend this meeting - as valuable information will be distributed.
PLEASE BRING YOUR CAP & GOWN for the panoramic picture.
Order forms will be available in the Main Office for the picture.
---------------------------------------------
    * Each senior will automatically be issued six (6) tickets (at no charge)
    * Each senior can purchase additional tickets @ $10.00 each
During this meeting, each senior will be given a ticket request form that is due to Mrs. Hood in the Main Office by May 21st if they want more than 6 tickets.
Keep in mind that in order for a senior to pick-up their tickets, all fines and detentions must by cleared. A fine list will be posted in the Main Office & ASB Office or you may contact the bookkeeper. It is the students’ responsibility to make sure they do not have fines. Detentions can be served before school in the Attendance Office or after school in the upper auditorium.
If detention hours are not completed or fines are owed, there will be a hold on the tickets until it is taken care of. Please work with your son/daughter in making sure that their fines are paid and/or detention hours are made up.
If you have any questions, please call the Main Office at (425) 204-3200.
Sincerely,
Tres Genger
Principal

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

OUTSTANDING SENIORS SELECTED!

The following seniors were chosen by Lindbergh staff as the 2010 Outstanding Seniors! They will be recognized at this week’s School Board meeting. Congratulations to Nick Anderson, Elizabeth Leonard, Paula Luu, Pearl N., Kaitlin O., Trevor Thompson, Frank Cange, James Cornell, Nate Cruz, Danielle Doolittle, Steven T. and Amber Hiranaka.

USE OF STUDENT NAMES IN THE ONLINE DAILY BULLETIN

Have you ever wondered why some student's full names are included in the online Bulletin, while other students' first names only are used? It's all due to the boxes that were checked on your original Internet User Agreement, usually filled out at ninth grade registration. Would you like your full name to appear? Come to the Computer Lab and see Mrs. Simone. Your original form can be updated - very quickly, if you are 18 years old! If you're not 18, you will be asked to fill out a new form and your parents have to sign it, too.

OUTSTANDING JUNIORS

The following students have been chosen as the St. Andrews Masons Outstanding Juniors from Lindbergh: David Foulds, Joshua Goodwin, Elizar Mercado, Ronald Monillas, Wei O., Nathanial Tandecki and the Outstanding Male Junior is Alexander Nelson. The girls include Tatyana Lats, Morgan M., Seann-Kau’i Padriga, Karlie Pfluger and the Outstanding Female Junior is Anastasia Wright. The St. Andrews Masons awarded Alexander Nelson and Anastasia Wright each a $400 scholarship. Congratulations to all!

CONGRATULATIONS, MRS. RAJI!

Mrs. Raji has been chosen as the St. Andrews Masons Outstanding Educator of the Year, an award given annually to a teacher in the Renton School District. Great job, Mrs. Raji! In the past, Ms. Bedtelyon and Mr. Nelson won this prestigious award. Mrs. Raji will be awarded $200.

GRADUATION SPEECHES!  Important, Class of 2010!

Are you interested in trying out to be a speaker at graduation?  As in, would you like to be the one who gets up in front of family, peers, staff and the school board, and delivers that stunning speech that everyone remembers? Tryouts will be held on Thursday, May 20, at 2:15 in the Little Theatre.  To be eligible to try out, you must hand deliver in a FINAL COPY of your speech to Miss Yoder (room 110H) or Ms. Bedtelyon (Room 110B) by 2:03 on Friday, May 14.  This must be the speech that you deliver on Thursday, May 20.  Please see Ms. Bedtelyon or Miss Yoder if you have questions.

SPIRIT OF GIVING RESULTS!

Congratulations to Mr. Bergquist's second period class!  They came in first in the Spirit of Giving drive with 24,190 points.  In second place was Ms. Charles' class with 11,210 points and in third place was Ms. Peterson's class with 6, 750 points.  The total points of all the collected items from the entire school were 67,860!  This surpassed our goal of 30,000 points!  We collected so much stuff that it filled the floor of a 26 foot moving truck. Good Work Eagles!

JOSTENS - here April 30

Jostens will be here April 30 for the class picture in the morning and will bring all graduation orders that have been paid recently. They will also be in the Commons during all lunches for you to place your ring order. Extra informational packets are in the Main Office if you need one or go to Josten's web site to design yours.

CHESS TOURNAMENT

Do you like to play chess? Do you want to see how you would do against other students at LHS? Then you should sign up for the Lindbergh High School Chess tournament! The tournament started last week, and it will run until there is one school champion. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the tournament. Talk to Mr. Guttenberg for more information.

MANDATORY SENIOR MEETING - April 30

There will be a MANDATORY senior meeting April 30 at 7:15 a.m. in the gym. A lot of valuable information will be discussed as well as the cap and gown picture.

DRESS CODE REMINDER

Students, with the weather warming up, it is important to remember the dress code at Lindbergh. You may not wear pants sagging below the hips, clothing that results in exposed cleavage or abdomens, sunglasses, tube tops, halter tops, tank tops with spaghetti straps (straps must be at least the width of your ASB card), short shorts or mini-skirts (length must be below your fingertips when your arms are extended), or pants with large holes above where your fingertips reach. If your clothing does not comply with the dress code, you will be sent home to change and may be assigned consequences. Thank you for your attention to this.

AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORIAL

Lindbergh has after-school tutorial in the library on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Tutorial runs from 2:15 – 3:15. There is no tutorial on Tuesdays or Fridays. Questions? Contact Mrs. Horton.

ID/ASB CARDS

Do you need your ID card? Do you need your ID card reprinted? Please come to the Main Office during lunch and see Mrs. Hood.

LUNCH TIME AREAS

Students, you may only be in the cafeteria, commons or library during lunch. You may not wander the halls or hang out by the mirrors. Lockers must be visited after lunch. Please remain in the proper location to avoid receiving detentions.

DETENTIONS

This is a reminder for students to check the detention lists posted around the building. A new list is posted by the end of each Tuesday afternoon (students will note a color change).  Also remember  that not serving detentions will result in an automatic assignment to Saturday school. Questions? Visit the Attendance Office.

ROTARY OF THE MONTH - April and May

Jammy P. has been chosen as April Youth of the Month, and Amber Hiranaka has been chosen as May's Youth of the Month. Congratulations to both!
